The Double Shoals Mill site planning was used to determine the best uses for the facility and the optimal way to circulate around the site. The complicated site topography was used to separate the wide variety of functions of the building renovation. The site planning process also included a thorough market analysis to determine the needs of the community and opportunities to bring in economic development in this rural area.
After conducting interviews and researching public and private investors, we used the market analysis to identify potential uses for the buildings and site. The existing conditions assessment helped determine what portions of the building to retain. Because of the extensive research gathered and developed, the result was a well thought out final design.
