Nova’s Corner – a new retail/office hub in Plaza Midwood

This new 12,000 sf two story building will provide an opportunity for more retail and office tenant space in the growing Plaza Midwood area. The owner is Vlado and Sladjana Novakovic the owners of Nova’s Bakery liked the character of the current bakery and store, and wanted to incorporate it into the new building. Insight architects tried to capture the character of the existing stretch of buildings on Central Avenue between Pecan and The Plaza. This has been achieved with the use of tumbled brick, brick detailing characteristic to old North Carolina retail buildings and the relationship to the street.  The building provides a large covered outdoor space promoting social interactions. The upper story has a clear view of the Charlotte Uptown skyline.
